THIS BOERUM HILL townhouse underwent a complete gut renovation, bringing renewed life to the historic home. The design carefully intertwines modern interventions with the restoration of original details, including existing plaster moldings and wood casings. A dramatic new two-story rear opening introduces light and volume, anchored by a cantilevered full-width steel deck. Heirloom elements, including an antique wood fireplace surround from the family’s Virginia estate, lend warmth and history, beautifully complementing the newly fabricated architectural details.
